Tirana to Zagoria Valley

We will meet in Tirana, starting our day early for a journey to Zagoria Valley. We'll travel through scenic routes, enjoying the views of the Albanian countryside. We will reach the valley, where our exploration of traditional villages and stone houses will begin. The walk, surrounded by natural beauty, will take approximately 2.5 hours. Our adventure will conclude at the Guest House, where we will be hosted by the members of the house and spend the night.

Zagoria Valley to Gjirokastra

Today, we travel to Gjirokastra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known as the Stone City. We'll explore the historic architecture, including the Gjirokastra Fortress, which offers breathtaking views of the valley. Our descent to the city takes us through charming streets and alleys. Along our walk, we will have the opportunity to rest and enjoy the traditional Albanian cuisine. The descent to Gjirokastra also allows us to refresh in the city's cultural atmosphere. Meanwhile, our luggage will be conveniently transported directly to our hotel.

Albanian Riviera

Today promises to be a relaxing day as we head to the Albanian Riviera. Our first stop is the coastal beaches, where we will delve into the azure waters and soak up the sun. We then embark on a picturesque drive to Butrint National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offering a glimpse into ancient civilizations.

Our journey continues through the park, leading us to the Ksamil Islands. Here, we cross the crystal-clear waters by boat. The arrival in Ksamil reveals the stunning beauty of the Ionian Sea, with its pristine beaches and vibrant marine life.

Albanian Riviera to Tirana

After enjoying a delightful breakfast at our Hotel, we will set off towards the capital city, Tirana. Our picturesque journey takes us through scenic passes, where we will have the opportunity to gaze upon the entire coastline. We then ascend towards Tirana, making a memorable stop at the impressive Llogara Pass. Continuing our route towards Tirana, we'll arrive in the capital where a three-hour city walk and tour with our knowledgeable guide await us. A relaxing and enriching day lies ahead, filled with the charm and history of Albania.

General Information

-This tour is rated moderate and requires participants to be in good physical condition. The trail leads through varied landscapes, marked by inclines and declines, valleys, rocky summits, and stretches of forests.

-Despite the scenery, the routes selected are solid underfoot and generally reliable, offering both challenge and security along the way. -Trails  often involve ascents and descents. Weather can shift rapidly even in the summer months adding an extra layer of difficulty and occasionally leading to route adjustments in remote areas.

-It will be expected to hike six to seven hours from Zagoria Valley to Gjirokastra. Previous trekking experience is helpful but not essential for those who are very fit. Each participant must carry their own daypack during the hikes, while the main luggage for this day will be transported by vehicles. Weather conditions can delay the day hike , Do the mountainous area the weather conditions can change quickly, bring a breathable light-weight waterproof gear , fleece/wool pullover, wind-stopper jacket, gloves, small backpack with rain coverage, cap, sun block, mosquito repellent, head lamp, hiking poles, water bottle, sunglasses and the right hiking shoes
